For all our new clients we offer a free initial consultation; a time for us to get know and understand your business and to identify what you really need. It may be that all you need is help with the preparation of your annual accounts and tax return; or a helping hand to operate your accounting software. Whatever your needs we will put together a package that suits both you and your budget.

For most engagements we can offer a fixed annual fee; we agree an amount in advance and then give you the option to pay this over 12 months.

We appreciate and understand the pressures of running a business and the stress that can be caused trying to keep your books and records up to date. We also appreciate how important accurate financial information is to the business owner.

Our aim is to help take the stress out of bookkeeping and give you the vital information you need and we believe modern technology combined with a Cloud accounting application can help achieve this.

Accounting Software

Making tax digital (MTD) is being introduced in April 2019 for all VAT registered businesses; from this date HMRC will require VAT returns to be filed using MTD compliant software.

Cloud Accounting

These programs are revolutionising the way businesses undertake their bookkeeping with their direct links to bank accounts and mobile phone apps. Andrew is currently a certified expert in Xero, FreeAgent and QuickBooks Online.

Sage 50 Accounts

Andrew is an expert in the operation of Sage 50 Accounts. Training and advice can be provided in most aspects of the software.

Microsoft Excel

Andrew has a detailed understanding in the operation of this program, so can help you with formulas, reports or presentation. He has used Excel on many occasions to link with Sage Accounts to allow the production of bespoke management accounts and reports.

Preparation of Annual Financial Statements

We can prepare annual accounts for nearly all businesses, whether a sole trader, partnership or limited company.

Preparation of Tax Returns

We can prepare your tax return, calculate your tax liabilities and file your tax return with HMRC, ensuring you comply with your statutory obligations.

About

Andrew Mead & Co Ltd is a small accountancy practice based in Oban on the West Coast of Scotland. It is owned and managed by Andrew Mead FCCA, a fully qualified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); the practice is also registered and regulated by ACCA.

Andrew has been an accountant for 20 years; he qualified in 2006 and in 2007 moved to Oban to join an accountancy practice in the town. In 2018 Andrew formed Andrew Mead & Co Ltd. Andrew has always specialised in supporting the small business, quite often becoming a vital part of a client's management team.

When not working with clients, Andrew enjoys sailing, as well as volunteering on board Oban Lifeboat, as a crew member and deputy mechanic. He is also volunteer finance director for Oban and Lorn Community Enterprises Ltd, the charity which runs the leisure centre in Oban - Atlantis Leisure.
